Figure Skater Panlilio on the Rise at ISU Junior Grand Prix

18 September 2018
One year made a big difference for Diane Gabrielle Panlilio as she scored 89.51 at the ISU Junior Grand Prix in Richmond, Canada to land in 21st place. This marks a big leap for 14-year-old Panlilio, who bested her score from last year's outing at the Junior Grand Prix circuit by over 10 points and markedly improved on her previous 33rd place finish.

Panlilio recorded new personal best scores in all segments and registered noticeable gains in her program component scores, as well as in the levels and grades of execution of her spins and step sequences. She hopes to continue to follow through on these improvements, as well as master more difficult jumps to improve her competitiveness.

She has said this experience has given her a boost of confidence that she has what it takes to compete among the world's best. Though she is still ineligible to compete at the senior level, she already has her sights set on going further.

Videos of her Short Program and Free Skating in Richmond have been made available by the ISU through their YouTube channel.

Congratulations, Gaby!
